This bow is kind of a riddle.  Notice the cleat.

Amphibious airplane.  Looks like over salt water.

Yes! It is the bow of a pontoon, strapped to the bottom of a De Havilland Beaver 75 miles west of Key West.

I love the duck pic.

The Iowa shot looks great. I think I'd run that thru Lightroom and fix the lens distortion. I know I'm nit picking. Not saying it's bad I love it but if it were mine I would change it just slightly.

LOL

Could be the degreaser and paint fume combo I was on earlier in the day.

Either bird it is I dig the head reflection in the water. Great lighting. Hey as long as it's not one of those "rats with wings" sea gull or "grass eating pooping machine" Canadian geese it's good to photograph.

Honestly, I'm 99% sure that photo came from my 4 "ultrapixel' cellphone camera...don't think there's much hope for making it much better...

Ya, the picture with the Loon was cool. Odd thing, we went out for an evening run and spotted the pair of Loons with two new chicks in tow, pretty common in our twenty plus years on the water. But this Loon is different . . . as we pulled up to the group I killed the engine and glided in to within 50 feet.  The one Loon stayed put with the chicks while the other one came right at me . . . And then it circled us as you see within about twenty feet.  It took a bit to get my old iPhone 4 up and running in camera mode but I did nab a shot or two.  I think THAT Loon was try ing to indimidate us . . . and they did. :)
