Not sure yet, it’s riveted and glassed all the way around.
It’s gonna be a PIA either way

Got all the structural demoed today

Guess I won’t be able to use the old transom as a pattern.

after several hours of grinding yesterday and today its mostly done, just half the transom mud plate to go.
speaking that, the motor mounts, stringer and the floor were set with that same super hard grey stuff :(
i got these carbide disks at harbor freight, they last almost 2 hours grinding on that grey stuff.

I'm still not certain what that grey stuff is, but I thought it was only present on the mid eighties boats.  Mine was cracked pretty bad so a little work with an air chisel got most of it.   I'll have to look for those grinding wheels my next trip to horror freight.

When I did Kips boat the gray stuff on the transom. I used a rivet gun and chisel to remove. Worked real slick did not take much time to do. Plus it keep the dust down.

Lol
It’s supposed to be an adapter so I can hook the smaller hose to the dust collector bear, but it doesn’t have quite enough suck, I think my T-shirt is too heavy.

I got the rest of the mud plate ground out, and almost half of the carpet glue, even when those carbide discs get dull they still cut through fiberglass like crazy. They also work really good on the carpet glue.
