Title: interior in my boat redone
Post by: Lanky2Dope on July 27, 2013, 04:19:53 AM
I have a 1985 SSV-167 With cream and brown original interior all the seats need to be reupholstered
And i would like to know if anyone other glastron owners know how to do this... or have the abilities to get it done... most of the seats will need new wood as its kinda wet and rotten.. i can rebuild the wood parts just cannot sew or do Upolstery myself... i would like to help do it if possible... i own a custom car audio shop in Wyoming, Minnesota close to halberg marine i would do possible partial trade or all trade and cash if someone can assist me in getting it done... i can get all material including the fabric from my local distributor in st.paul
I am looking to do this asap... i had a deal worked out with wyoming Upolstery to get it done... i was goin to install two remote car start systems in his 2 cars but he is so busy i know it wont get done this season and i wanna get it done asap

I used Sampson Upholstery in St Paul and they did an awesome job. I would highly recommend him. And he had the best price from all the quotes I got

Laurie and I did the seats in our GT-150, and we lived through it.
made patterns from the old seats
sewed one together from a  table cloth as a trial run
used pre made piping and matched the seam allowance to it
stapled it together then sewed it on a singer we got at a thrift store (you need to use a zipper-foot)
we found the piping and pleated vinyl here http://www.garysupholstery.com/ (http://www.garysupholstery.com/)
i made new wood for the back-to-back seats for the 88 X-19 i am restoring but have decided to go with swivel buckets, bench, sun-pad.
you can get them for what i have into the plywood and tee nuts
