Title: Wanted To Buy - 3.0 mercruiser
Post by: rmorit01 on April 28, 2015, 09:27:15 AM
Wanted to buy a 3.0 mercruiser - finally found out that the #3 cylinder is bad.

Would drive up to 200 miles to pick it up and I am located in Madison, WI.

Send me a message or email me at rmorit01@gmail.com -

I have been searching local craigslist too and nothing great has popped up yet so the search continues.

Motor will go into a 1981 SSV-164 - thanks - Bob

Bob - I had my existing motor rebuilt, including paying a little extra for it being 'drop in ready'...meaning, it was fully running, timed, everything when I picked it up from the machine shop.

It'd sure be nice to see your boat at the meet this year!

There is always new too. But a little more spendy but at least you know its good. Otherwise the only way i'd buy a used motor is in a donor boat you can test run on the water.

Working on it - Instead of looking used going to work towards a rebuild unless the block is completely ruined.  If that is the case the michigan motorz may be an option.  Should know more next week.
