Title: Trade ?
Post by: ICE on August 30, 2015, 10:54:24 PM
Hello everyone,
I just want to throw this out to the club members… I strayed last month, I purchased a boat and it is not a a Glastron, (I purchased a 28' Motor yacht style boat), I really have no need for my beautiful 86 CV23, I may sell it, but if there was a club member that was interested in trading up in size give me a shout.. I'm interested purchasing or trading for another CVX 16, 18 or 20 or CSS19.  Just a thought and thanks for your time.
Jimmy

Hey Jimmy,
Beautiful CV23! Probably one of the nicest I have seen! It's interesting though. As it has a little bit different gelcoat pattern going than the typical 86. It more looks like an 87 but without the red going over the top of bow. You might have a one of a kind. Maybe it was built as they were switching over to the 87's.

Jason you are correct it is very unique, that's probably why I bought it… Pick this one up in eastern Ohio 4 years ago, yup I got lucky again but I did probably paid way too much for it... But to me it was worth it with something that I've  always wanted.  I see you have a CV 23,  great boats,  so much room, great swim platform, big sun deck, and extremely functional Cuddy. I think that my proposal could be a great opportunity for someone and myself.  Thanks for the info.

Hey Still_Fishin darn right we can talk, I've never owned a CVX18...my CV23 is a Beautiful, unmolested 100% original boat,   I can't imagine you being disappointed with it. Keep in touch

An all original CV23 in great condition is tuff to find as they are too big to fit in most garages and end up sitting outside and rotting away.

If yours is trully original it looks awesome.

Also missing blue stripe and pleating on rear seat and swim deck. Yep, very unique.

Trade for a non original condition CVX16 that has a built Ford 302 engine in it?

Engine is has about 10 hours on it after a rebuild with
Edelbrock aluminum RPM heads
Lunati voodoo performance boat cam (hydraulic flat tappit)
dual plane aluminum intake
stainless roller rockers
600cfm Holly Marine carb

I've had it up to 63mph, but there's still a little left with some prop testing...

Yup it's original and needs nothing... Earlier this year I had it on the lift at my dock, under the lights looked awesome, someone from the harbor came up we were standing there he glanced over at my boat and said that thing belongs in the show room.

Did you talk to Tim?  His 18 is showroom condition as well.

Kert0307,  you have a cool boat and I'm sure you've put a lot of work into it, looks like a lot of fun… Although it's just not my style thank you though.

Fireman24mn,  yes I have made contact and looking forward to my conversation with Tim, I honestly have never called any of my pride and joy boats (or cars) "show room condition" that's just too powerful of a statement for me, but from what I see if Tim's looks like it just may be just that.
Thanks, Jimmy

We featured Tim's CVX18 when we were at the boat show a few years ago.

Hello jimmy,
I missed out on your CVX20, but may be interested in the CV23.
I've had several straight inboards and a Eliminator jet, but never an IO, can you give me your brief review of the high and low points of this boat?
I'm in Mpls, so easy to get to you.
How much are you asking for it?

thanks

So Jason, yours is an 86 but with a rear facing windscreen. This conversation has probably taken place before. Was one an option over the other? I also noticed that on my 88, the boarding ladder is on the Starboard side and the brochures pictured show it on Port. Odd little changes from year to year.

I know the windshield type was an option for sure in 85 and 86 as I have seen both years with both types. I've noticed the newer boats have swim ladder on starboard side.
