Geesh the interior on that thing is sweet! Key hole in the transom for an OMC Cobra and a MerCruiser are the same, easy swap! ;)

Or if you got $15K laying around pick up TAZ's CVX18 and go like a bat out a he$$! 8)

I dont know what problems you all have had with cobra out drives as I have had NONE,been inspected by marine tech.all ok.

Nah, that's a perfectly good outdrive.  Its the older VP stuff that tends to be an issue.  Your's I'd run no problem.

My neighbor has a Regal 1900 with that drive and has been great for him.  The regal with the air intake lift hull it is very fast, alas not so fast as the CVX's, but that is the boat, not the Cobra drive.   Seen it in action, looks good, runs with us strong.

BigZee the comment was directed at the fact they are not as popular as a MerCrusier which affects resale. I love that boat but the Cobra drive would be a deal killer for me. No matter how good the drive is at some point it is going to wear out or need repair. Finding parts & someone to work on a Cobra can be a little tougher of a challenge than w/MerCruiser. But it can be done. My understanding is that the Cobra drive is what became the Volvo SX after Volvo bought OMC so you can still get parts at a Volvo dealer. But no experience with that personally.

Good luck with the sale. No expense was spared on that beautiful boat when it was rebuilt.

I had a Cobra in a 25' Four Winn's cruiser with a 351 Ford (OMC).
Before I got it talked to marina and was told parts were available from OMC and V/P.
Rich said there were differences between the two ...But service and parts were not a problem.
Not sure about prop selection ?

That is an absolutely gorgeous boat, looks to be very well restored.   Hope you find a new owner that can truly appreciate such a beauty.   Good luck with your sale.
