Title: Swim platform teak slats
Post by: Redeye on September 14, 2016, 10:03:12 AM
I have a 1978 cvx23.  I'm going to remove the teak slats on the swim platform.  I was wondering if there was any value or should I just toss?  Thanks....-Rich in Ca.

Teak is very expensive, if in good shape some one might want them.
Are you replacing them with something that needs less upkeep ?

I am going to coat the platform with kiwigrip non skid coating.  Much more comfortable on the knees.  BTW the slats are in perfect condition.  Oiled and no cracks or splits.

Teak runs about $40 a board foot around here.  If the platform is in good shape, I'd be hard pressed to coat the teak with anything other than a finish designed for teak.    Maybe a custom platform to fit your needs and keep the original for resale value?

Save the teak!!   I'll use it.
