Hello, as the title suggests i have a 1975 CV16SS with the Volvo Penta 280 outdrive and the 302 v8. I ordered a new prop, the Volvo 14"x19p long hub. I have had a difficult time determining if i have the short hub or the long hub. I tried taking the current prop off to measure but the cone seems stuck and i really don't need to get it off until the new prop arrives. That being said I want to make sure i ordered the correct prop. Does anyone know if the 75 CV16SS came standard with either the short hub or long hub?

As per Volvo's info, looks like you need a long hub.
19P should be a good starting point.
There's still engine and drive manuals for older 270 / 280 / 290 drives on Volvos web site.

Thank you! Joining this website is paying dividends already! I love in Georgia now but used to live in Eden Prairie MN. I do miss Minnesota.
Regarding the cap being stuck, any recommendations? I bent my screwdriver trying to get off and a boat shop only put it on two weeks ago.

Also out of curiosity, where do you see that it is a long hub? I see the 280 listed on their pdf as both long hub and short hub.

Not sure how to get cone off.
Go to Volvo's web site and download manuals, they should have info on removal of cone.

Picture you posted of short hub … just don't look right on your drive …
Would think prop hub should go all the way back ?

Ok thank you. I trust yalls judgement more than mine! I think i ordered the right prop then.
