General Discussion / Hi from Ohio
« Last post by C on October 22, 2025, 12:27:04 PM »
I guess I have never introduced myself on here, I'm Lee from Southern Ohio. I have made some posts on the Facebook group and on this forum while I was searching for my GT-150. I no longer have Facebook (I only reactivated it to use Marketplace to search for my boat), but plan on being active in the forum. I have some experience with boating, previously owned a 2017 Glastron GT205, but the 1972 GT150 is my first venture in to a classic boat.

I've already learned a lot here and hope to contribute more as I gain some knowledge myself. Any other members from my part of the state?

Looking at putting a couple coats of paint in the area where the battery and gas tank are on my gt-150. Is this recommended? If so, what type of paint recommendations would you have? Just looking to add some extra protection and water proofing to this area of the boat. Currently looking at Interlux Bilgecoat in Grey.

$9,000

Listing my '81 Ski Machine with a rebuilt two stroke Mercury 200 outboard of the same year (no oil injection). I inherited this boat as a project and completed the restoration this year. I have enjoyed using it and unfortunately it is time to let it go to make room for other things in my life.

Got up to 55 mph with this prop, could probably get in the 65-70 range with a bigger one. Bring some gas and I can take you on a test drive.

I put this rebuilt mercury on it in January. I have a box of all the parts that were removed from it if you are interested in what was done. I did have to replace the head gaskets, can show pictures of the pistons they are squeaky clean.

Comes with an extra prop, 2 stroke oil container, impeller replacement kit for the spring and more.

This boat is in great condition and I would love to see it go to someone that will get good use out of it.

Details below:

Boat and Original Trailer
New rear and passenger seats
Pyle BT audio with amp
New steering wheel
New trailer jack
New trailer winch
New trailer tires and bearings
New fuel primer hose
New battery

Outboard Motor
200 hp Mercury Black Max 2-stroke V6 (1981)
New head gaskets
New head cooling water jacket gaskets
New thermostat
New hydraulic trim hoses
Refilled trim fluid
Rebuilt engine and carb less than 10 hours ago

I don?t think I have a moisture problem, just extra cautious and want to make sure it?s as dry as possible before storing for winter. Using the shoestring tip you gave me and put a fan and dehumidifier in the boat and covered with plastic. No clue if this is effective or will do much, but I just had to buy the plastic.

Made a lot of progress in the last couple weeks.
Paint is on and it is looking real good.
Started wet sanding and buffing this week.
Going to try to build seats and bench this weekend. Then wrap it up till the spring.

I did get a tach, here are the new gauges. At this point, I?ll probably wait till spring to get the prop figured out.

Beautiful Glastron turbine with Oldsmobile 455 320hp engine. In very good mechanical condition apart from the 2 exhaust manifold gaskets would need to be changed there is a loss. The interior has been dismantled in order to have the benches redone and carpeted. Did 42mph with it on Great Lake Nominingue. Out of the water like a seadoo. Comes with trailer that also serves as a car trailer. Brakes are hydraulic and should be done. I DO NOT RESPOND TO IS THIS AVAILABLE
