I've been riding bikes most of my life; it is part of my soul. When I was young I would dump a dirt bike on a weekly basis doing something that I'm sure my mother would not approve of. Back then with a young body one seems to almost bounce off the ground; not so much anymore. And the heavy cruisers many of us ride now are just less forgiving.
I do a rider course every year now. This year I did two already: a moderate high speed multiple corner track run through a private firm, and a low speed maneuverability course offered by the state of Minnesota through the technical schools. Both of them sharpened my skills. I currently sit on a Minnesota State Task Force for motorcycle safety. We meet every other month and go over fatal accidents, look at current training programs, and future programs along with marketing plans. Mostly composed of State Transportation officials I am simply a neutral party non state employee member doing it on a volunteer basis. Last year 61 riders died in th state of Minnesota on motorcycles, this year we are tracking at a much lower rate.
So, my summer free time is torn between riding bikes and boats; I love them both. If anyone here has a desire to take a rider course contact me and I'll make sure you get into the proper level skill set course.
