I rebuilt and rebushed my Qjet, but it came from a 12 bolt manifold, and now my new engine is vortec top end(8 bolt).   Doing so loses the "Heat box" bimetallic box that controlled the choke.   So my choke is basically in-op.   Like to convert to electric, but unsure if what electric chock or parts are needed to do this.   So, instead of chasing my tail for weeks instead of actually boating, I was considering just getting a new carb.  BTW, my new Vortec edelbrock manifold is dual pattern so it will fit a square or spread bore carb.   Personally I like the spread bores, great economy and power on tap.
