My lady and I purchased our 77' CVX-18 back in 2022 and got two awesome seasons out of it, then I deployed overseas in January of 2024, and it's been shrink wrapped/winterized since October 2023 in my yard. I paid $4000 in 2022. Looking to get $3000. Am open to reasonable offers but there's also not a rush to sell.
It has the original steel tank and lines and they have begun to rust and clog up the pickup and cause fueling issues. Since 2022 it has a brand new Holley 2 barrel carb, throttle cable, fuel pump, plugs/wires, coil, (distributor in good shape), and a new battery in 2023. But towards the end of 2023 it gave me a lot of fueling issues and the separator was continually filled with rust flakes and causing it to stall out. On top of that, the passenger seat base is broken, and the driver is beginning to sink in. Floor is so-so everywhere else, but there is a soft spot under the rear bench. Not sure if it's original, the seat upholstery and trim and dash were redone at some point for sure and are in good shape. I rebuilt the water pump in the lower unit in 2023, and everytime I drain the gear oil there's not been water in it so all good there. The water pump hose from the lower unit to the transom does have a leak as well that I noticed the last time I used it. I spot patched it but it'll need attention. When the fueling issue reared it's head with the other things I decided it was beyond my time and skills. The boat ran strong prior to fuel issues and would do 54 on GPS with a 19p 3 blade at 4800 rpm with me and a full tank. It'll come with a 17p that is great when you have 4 people on board.
Here's a link to my facebook post for more info and pics/video below, but I attached a couple here also. If you don't have facebook text me at 507-581-2300 and i'll happily send them to you! I'm located in Hastings, MN. Willing to travel in about an hour radius for delivery but I don't have a good enough tow vehicle or the time to go farther. We've loved this boat and all the looks and comments it gets on the river, and ideally we'd keep it as a project, but we're upgrading to something newer and larger with a cuddy (or a CV-23 if we can find the right one would be awesome!) and don't have room for 2 boats.
