was wondering if anyone know what the pulses per Rev is supposed to be set on on the back of the Aqua Meter Tach

A V8 MerCruiser would be 4 pulses
4 strokes fire every once every two rotations so divide number of cylinders by 2
2 Strokes fire once every rotation so number of cylinders equals number of pulses

Outboards usually go off the number of poles in the stater, I think OMC is six, not sure about any others.
