I haven't...we've had 1 nice day in the last week, so I've been cutting the floor, etc.  Haven't even tried to remove it yet...was planning to tonight if it doesn't rain.  (Its supposed to...)

Ok, really pushing to get the floor done.  Both seat sections are fiberglassed & mounted.  I have the ski locker section cut and ready for gluing...just didn't have the glue!  I'm hoping to have the entire floor done by Father's Day.  Then I'll pull the pump Rich and see what's going on there.

I was nice to have (part of) a solid floor to stand on, that's for sure!

Looks Good Doran!

Thanks Brandon.

In all honesty, I'm not putting in the same level of effort on this one.  (Should have pulled the bench seats, put floor under them, then cut them down to retain the same height, etc.)  I didn't fully encapsulate the floor in fiberglass, I definitely fiberglassed the pedestal support though.  I sealed everything up with a 70/30 (Resin/Acetone) mix so it would soak into the wood better, and just left it at that.

We can enjoy the boat this summer and then decide what to do after that...

I plan to rough up the resin a little bit with the sander and then paint the floor...anyone think that will hold up?  Bad idea?

That's how I did the floor on my GT (epoxy paint to help waterproof it), but then put some inexpensive Indoor/Outdoor carpet from Lowes over it - I just like the feel of carpet on my bare feet.  It worked out fine, but then it wasn't left outside much.?

Ski locker is in and the door is cut & sealed.  1 more section to do and then time to fiberglass the seams and get the floor done.

Just need carpet!

Rear ski locker is in, fixed all the molding around the tables/cabinets...then tried to figure out how to remove the impeller housing?  Anyone else see a problem?  Good news is that I found the broken impeller blade from the old one...thinking that might have been part of my water supply issue.

Bimini top will be nice for some shade too.

Duh!

Rotate the pump body one way or the other to get clearance to the 3 allen bolts that hold the pump to the pulley.

Well, I figured as much, but I tried rotating it by hand but it wasn't 'easy'...I'll put on my big boy pants and knuckle down.

Without the impeller installed that should move really easy, there should be no straining involved unless the bushing is seized on it. There's a support arm holding the pump body to the engine block underneath to keep it from spinning when the engine is running.

I didn't touch the support arm, do I need to unbolt that from the impeller housing?

I did inspect both bellows & the sea water pickup tube through the transom, it's all intact...so no holes or cracks.  I think once I get this fixed, and with the impeller piece removed, I think I'll splash her.  First though, vacation with Goldie!!!!

Yes, you need to unbolt the support arm, either from the pump or from the engine (or both) to free the assembly.

Ok, after figuring out the removal (Thanks Rich), the impeller housing is off.  Looks ok, but going to go with a new one, still have a busted screw in the housing on this one.

Doran,  I had 3 that busted off, one had been in there a while when I bought it and the other two were more recent when I slipped during impeller removal and the screwdriver took them out.  I was able to use a small reverse drill bit and work them out.

Yeah, I'm going to try and save this one first.  They're $400! I wonder why they used such weak little screws?  Do they have to be brass if I'm freshwater only?

I went with all new round head brass machine screws from a hardware store, didn't want to second guess.  They do not need to have much clamping force.  I wish VP had used a little bit thicker paper gasket though, sheesh.
