1977 Glastron Carlson CVX-16ss Project - $600 (Glencoe)

https://sacramento.craigslist.org/boa/d/glencoe-1977-glastron-carlson-cvx-16ss/7883633520.html

This is a 1977 Glastron/Carlson CVX-16ss with 120hp 4-cylinder engine, and OMC stringer outdrive with the power trim option. I bought this 12 years ago with the intention of restoring, but accumulated too many projects in the meantime and this has been left untouched.

The hull is in very good condition with minimal scratches. The silver metalflake is rough, but very restorable with wet sanding. The windshield is cracked in several places on the left side, but all there. The floor and transom both feel solid. Needs new upholstery.

I have not investigated the mechanical condition of the engine, outdrive, or gauges. What I can say is that the propeller shaft turns freely and feels good, the steering isn't frozen, and the throttle linkage moves normally. Looks complete except it's missing the key switch and the spark arrestor on the carburetor. Engine hours are unknown since it doesn't have a meter.

Includes a 1978 TrailRite trailer with Bearing Buddies. Bearings have been checked and they turn smoothly. The tires are old, but still look good and don't leak. Nice chrome modular wheels and swing-away jack. The lights don't work, so will come with a set of magnetic tail lights to get you home. The coupler takes a 2" ball.

Boat and trailer have California titles in my name, and both are currently registered.

I also have many other project Carlsons I would sell if you're interested in a different model, but I don't have pictures and they haven't been prepped for sale yet. Call, text, or email if interested. Thanks for looking.

1980's Glastron Carlson - project boat - Rare find.
Selling my 16' Glastron Carlson from the 1980's. Hull in excellent condition. No soft spots, no rot, transom would need some work. Motor would need repair or new motor. Trailer included but not roadworthy. ( will need repair or replacement). Great project for someone looking for a classic performance boat to restore. Stringers and floor in good condition. Located near Huntsville. Asking $3000.

Looking at those pictures reminded me that I also touched up the cover of the trailer jack. I also recognize a few of those people. Thanks for the trip down memory lane Gregg.

Right before that boat was in the Minneapolis boat show, I can't remember what year, I had some sort of oil based paint mixed up to touch up the tongue. From memory I think it was a pretty good match at the time, maybe not anymore. If it's close enough for you I might be able to find some sort of paint code because I might have gotten that paint at Sherwin Williams and I think they keep pretty good records of your purchases. Do you want the original steel wheels?

Nothing in the 1983 trailers spec's about paint ..

I think any good paint shop can color match.

I am getting ready to have my trailer repainted to the factory color.  I checked my local commercial paint supply company hoping they could figure it out, but no such luck.  Anyone have a resource or recommendation that can get me going?
