Water in bilge

Good morning,

Got the gt150 out for the first time yesterday. After boating for an hour and pulling the plug, I got approximately a gallon of water from the drain plug? Everything looks in good condition, I did notice the cap of the boat has a small gap under the rub rail on the port side. Would this much water enter through there with it being so low? Transom fittings all look secure and everything soild. Hull looks in excellent condition. Any thoughts on this? Is it just normal? It wasn't enought water to kick on the bilge pump I installed.

After I redid ours, the first time in a couple of years, some of the screws started pulling out, and if it was windy, or there was a lot of waves a pretty fair amount of water would come in there. We ended up putting screws and nuts in about half of the spots to help hold it tight, that little boat flexes a lot when you?re running it through rough water.

That makes sense. I was out on the river and it wasn't real calm. It was my first time running the boat and I was trying to get a feel for the boat and the new to me outboard. I may see about running a bead of silicone in the spot I noticed the small gap.
